All are welcome to St. Aidan’s –

persons of every race, language, age, gender, sexual orientation, physical and mental ability and economic level.  We celebrate and are blessed by our many diverse God-given gifts.  In accordance with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we hold that discrimination of any kind is outside God’s intent for God’s people and we affirm our Baptismal Vow to uphold the dignity of every human being.  We affirm that all relationships are founded on the principles of God’s love, justice and peace.

 Statement of Purpose

Our mission is to spread the Promise of Jesus Christ in and beyond our community
through worship, education, fellowship, and outreach.

Land Acknowledgement

We remember and honor the Indigenous people of the world, especially the Cascades, Cowlitz, Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla, whose land that we now occupy in this region was once their home, and it was taken from them. The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Umatilla, and Siletz continue to have a presence in this area. We give thanks for them and express our gratitude for their witness on how to live a life that is honorable and humble. May we always remember that the Earth does not belong to us; that we belong to the Earth, and that we are all relatives in life. Help us to learn from our past mistakes and be instruments of justice and peace for all people in today’s world, particularly the original Indigenous inhabitants.

Prayer for the people of the world who have died
or who mourn for loved ones lost due to war, gun violence or any kind of oppression.

O God our Father, whose beloved Son took children into his arms and blessed them: Give us grace to entrust all your beloved children to your everlasting care and love and bring them fully into your heavenly kingdom. Pour out your grace and loving-kindness upon all who grieve; surround them with your love; and restore their trust in your goodness so that they may find their way back to peace. We beseech you to send your Holy Spirit to take away the anger and violence that infects our hearts and make us instruments of your peace and children of the light. In the Name of Christ who is our hope, we pray. Amen.
